An Absurd Tax?

According to Fortune's report and Mercury news report, the taxation will help to fund programs for poor people who do not have access to the internet and phone services. This tax will not be issued per text, this will be a irksome fee at the bottom of the wireless bill.

Many organizations and business groups have been showing up against this idea, which many people are beginning to call absurd, this is due that communications nowadays are like this, through a messaging app, such as, WhatsApp, iMessage, Facebook Messenger, Skype and many others .Having the idea of taxing the text messages is kind of taxing the way we have conversations, which brings to the question if later on video calls are going to be taxed or just a simple face to face conversation.

From my point of view is just a way of taking money away from the public in general, since they are seeing a downfall on traditional communication technologies, such as normal phone calls, they need to react quick and find a way of how to get money from the emerging technologies. This idea will only anger the public in general, since no one likes taxes, but most importantly, this could be considered as a information technology such as e-mail and will definitely not qualify as a technology which should be taxed.
