Are Printed Books Better than E-Books?

E-Book became a popular way of reading books, due to lack of time of going to the book stores, trend or even because your college professor introduced them to you, the fact is that the popularity of e-books is going higher, is it? Well some studies conducted since 2012 states that students and many other people prefer the printed copies over the e-book version.

According to the article on the Huffingtonpost, there is a series of studies, which show that students prefer the printed copies over the e-book version. This is based on several reasons, such as having the book itself on your hands, the believe that some information is only available offline, the ease of learning from the printed copy instead of the online version. This is the case of the books in the humanities courses. Students prefer the printed copy on the humanities courses rather than the online version, this is not the case of the science books, such as maths, physics and others.

On my opinion, the printed version of the books are harder to carry around and most of the times is bit frustrating when you need to search for a particular definition or a particular chapter, when you have an e-book, you just need to tap the search option on the screen and you'll be able to find whatever you are looking for in just a blink of an eye. Although I understand why for some people is easier to have a printed copy for the humanities courses, since you are able to write your notes, highlight the parts you need and most people do not know this is possible on the e-books too. To finish it up, on my opinion e-books are significantly better regarding convenience, but it all depends on what you are looking for.
