YouTube is introducing a new feature to their app, which is the auto play. This feature will allow you to have a preview of the video you are about to watch, with subtitles on and no sound, like this being useful when on in public and you do not want to disturb people around you or the people around you are not letting you hear.
The real reason behind why they came up with this idea was due to tow main questions. How can I watch on the go? How can I preview a video? This feature is not always on, you are able to manage when do you want to leave it on, the options are off, Wi-Fi only and always on. This feature actually consumes data, which somehow users which have no idea that the off option is available their data consumption might go up, like this the bill of their data consumption will go up.
For me, this new feature is just a way to sky rocket the views of some channels, and this will also hurt a lot the channels which do clickbait, since you will be able to see a preview of the video, plus the thumbnail and the tittle you are able to see if the video had any clickbait or not and decide not to watch it, this will have a great negative impact on the channel itself, since they (the owner of the channel) will not receive as much timeline as it used to receive before. So it is a negative and positive scenario for the content creators. Finally I would like to add that from my point of view this will not generate more money for the App itself, since the preview will not show the adds which are the main source of income of this platform.
